I highly recommend Dr. Joseph Hilbe's book, Negative Binomial
Regression (http://www.stata.com/bookstore/nbr.html), in addition to
the Long and Freese book.  Just be sure to read it along with the
errata (http://www.cambridge.org/catalogue/catalogue.asp?isbn=9780521857727&ss=res)
and updated chapter 10.
