A 64-bit executable will not work on a 32-bit machine. Also, a 64-bit
license is different from a 32-bit license and will not work with
a 32-bit executable. When Susan purchases her 64-bit version of
Stata, she can upgrade it to a multi-platform license so that it will
work on both operating systems. Generally, the charge is $25 but it
might be different if she purchased her license through a GradPlan.

Dear listers
Can someone tell me if Stata 64 version will run on a 32bit machine? I
know it sounds a strange question.
I have a 64bit laptop running Vista and intend purchaing a 64bit
version of Stata. However, I would like to be able use it on my desktop
if necessay which is 32 bit running XP.
Thanks
Susan
