you are doing a factor analysis, so you have multiple variables. Say
that the other variable you are going to use in your factor analysis
are called fax and stapler, than you would type:
ice computer fax stapler

this is an area of active research, see for instance (Joreskog and
Moustaki 2006). I am not aware of any implementation in Stata, though I
imagine that it might be possible to use -gllamm- in this way. But,
don't ask me how to do that. Maybe others on this list know more?
