Thank you so much, David. Your suggestion worked wonderfully. Now, I need
to transfer the variable labels and value labels from the old list of
variables to the newly generated variables. I have about 35 variables
"limidur*" and I need to copy the labels from the 35 variables "lhcaly*".
I tried several commands posted for copying labels to a macro and then
reassigning, but they haven't worked. Any ideas?
