Sacrificial offering to the Statalist daemon	

The Statalist daemon decided to let my message through this month,  
but not without extracting the first line. Here is what should appear  
before the tally of download stats:

  Over 83,000 ado-files were downloaded from the SSC Archive in July  
2007,
  representing the efforts of 228 members of the Stata user community.
