Dear Simo,
the question is, how your data look like but I suppose you have individual
data, i.e. for each child a row, so this might help:

Dear All,
I have the children data that includes household id, children's age and
children's birth date.
Using this information, I want to create new three variables;
1. Age difference between children
2. Preceding birth interval
3. Succeeding birth interval
Could you help me how to calculate these new three variables?
Thanks for your kind help in advance.
Best regards,
Simo
