Hi,
I'm using Stata 9.0 and am running a Cox proportional
hazards model to identify independent predictors of
survival. I'm trying to calculate the goodness of fit
of my final model.
Now, Stata 9.0 lists a command -estat concordance -
which should give me the c-statistic, but I'm not able
to employ the command succesfully. I was hoping
someone could tell me if my syntax is wrong or if I'm
doing it incorrectly?
What i've been doing is (after setting the survival
time):
.xi: stcox i.agegroup i.sex i.race
.estat concordance
That apparently doesn't seem the right way to go about
it as I'm not able to get any estimates. Am I doing
something wrong? Are there other commands to calculate
goodness of fit for Cox survival data?
Also, while using the -stphplot- command to check for
assumption of proportion hazards, how does one decide
which variable to check the proportional hazards
assumption for? Shoudl I check it for all variables
that are significant in the multivariate model?
Thanks,
Ashwin
