I contact that site using -net from http://www.indiana.edu/~jsl650/stata/-
One reason may be that there is a problem with your internet connection
(or maybe your computer doesn't allow Stata to contact internet). Anyhow
that possibility and remedies is described in -help r(2)-. Looking at
-help r(2)- was suggested by the error message, did you do that?

I am trying to download "spostado" by typing the following:
net from http://www.indiana.edu/~jsl650/stata/
net install spostado
It just doesn't work for me. I always get the following message:

connection timed out -- see help r(2) for troubleshooting
http://www.indiana.edu/~jsl650/stata/ either
1) is not a valid URL, or
2) could not be contacted, or
3) is not a Stata download site (has no stata.toc file).

I also tried "findit spostado" and it didn't work. is there any other way of getting this done?
