Dear statalist members:
I'm trying to include a constant in a nonlinear function. I used the
substitutable expression with Model 2 option -hasconstant- which
needs a parameter. I generated a constant variable (column of ones,
called constante) but I get an error r(498) "constante not found
among parameters".
-nl (iitt = 1/(1+exp(-1*{xb: constante lavrgdp ldpcgdp ltc
lroyalsale latarif lagi lavgest ldcap}))), nolog
hasconstant(constante)-
constante not found among parameters
check hasconstant() option or try using nl without it
r(498);
Another alternative was to include "constante" without indicating
-hasconstant- but this variable turned out to be not significant in
various specification.
So my question is how to introduce a constant as a parameter in this
particular nonlinear square function. I need to compare my results
with a without a constant. I've just started to work with Stata 9.0 .
I was reading Baum's book "Introduction to Modern Econometrics with
Stata" which is helping me a lot to work with Stata but there is not
much information about nonlinear squares.
Thanks
