Nick and Austin,
thanks. Discard did not solve the problem. -sysdir- did reveal a number of directories, some old.
. sysdir
STATA: C:\Stata8\
UPDATES: C:\Stata8\ado\updates\
BASE: C:\Stata8\ado\base\
SITE: C:\Stata8\ado\site\
PLUS: c:\ado\plus\
PERSONAL: c:\ado\personal\
OLDPLACE: c:\ado\
But I've searched and deleted all ivreg2 files now, installed ivreg28 again, as well as xtivreg2 -- and it still says
"Error - must have ivreg2 version 2.1.15 or greater installed"
when I try to run xtivreg2.
Any more ideas?
thanks, w
