The problem is that the latest ivreg2 requires version 9. There is also
a version of ivreg2 that we've frozen for version 8 called ivreg28.
Finally, you are probably running an earlier version of xtivreg2 that
doesn't know about ivreg28.
So, try this:
1. Update xtivreg2 and run it. It should give you an informative error
message, saying that you don't have ivreg28.
2. Install ivreg28. The problem should now go away.
