Hello Tim,
The following existing functions have been renamed:
old name new name
index() strpos()
.........other functions.....................
Source: http://www.stata.com/stata9/dm.html
Please use -version- if you want to use old syntax
Regards, Sergiy

Subject: st: "index" not documented in help in Stata 9?
Hi Statalisters:
Does anyone know why the -index- string function is not documented
anymore in the help file in Stata 9? -indexnot- is documented, but to
me this is a less useful funciton. I was trying to explain -index- to
someone and ended up frustrating them by telling them to look for it
in the help. Is it not being supported anymore, or is this a mistake?
Thanks, Tim
