Re: st: outputting progress indicator for long-running programs
Stata Tip 41, by David Harrison, which came out in today's electronic
version of the Stata Journal, suggests a way to get dots to appear in
the output file to show progress.

Dear All,
Does anyone know how to update the status line in Stata window? I
was wandering if it's possible to put progress indicator there for
time-consuming programs, similar to the percentages when Stata
downloads updates?
In one of my programs I used -window manage maintitle- feature to
report progress in the title bar but this command works only with
Windows and Unix (as one of the users with MacOS pointed out to me)...
Any other suggestion would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Zurab
