Hello Stata users
I have found a couple of earlier discussions on Statalist of problems
with memory allocation to Stata in 32 bits Windows XP. In one of them
(http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2005-09/msg00382.html)
Microsoft's /3GB switch is mentioned, but it is not clear whether Stata
supports this switch, i.e. whether Stata comes with the bit
IMAGE_FILE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE set in its image header - or can be
modified to do this (see
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/platform/server/PAE/PAEmem.mspx).
(The suggestion in some of the other listings is to change to 64 bits
systems, which would be nice, but is not possible so far under my
university's policies.)
Thanks for all help.
Best regards,
Arne Mastekaasa
