st: VUMC Biostatistics Stata Wiki
I have had some trouble posting this...third try now.
Department Chair Frank Harrell is graciously willing to host a Stata
Wiki at the Vanderbilt Biostatistics tWiki site http://
biostat.mc.vanderbilt.edu/twiki/bin/view if enough "volunteers are found
from around the world to support it". Dr. Harrell also strongly
recommend use of the same Wiki software http://wiki.splitbrain.org/
wiki:dokuwiki used for the R Wiki site http://wiki.r-project.org/
rwiki/doku.php.
So, we need a show of hands from those who would want additional
responsibilities and control of the initial stages. Please email me
directly if you are interested in helping (what that means exactly, I
realize I've not defined very well), and I'll compile a list of
persons to present to Dr. Harrell so we can move closer to initiating
the site.
Even if you don't want architect status, but have opinions, let them
fly. I'll sort them out. One thought is how to improve on the R Wiki
site--it's good to have competition. I personally liked Michael
Mitchell's post regarding getting enough online as seed material to
encourage growth. Even if initially this is what happens, that's not
bad; it should catalyze contribution and use.
Cheers,
-Dave
