The solution must depend on the network configuration, and has to be
implemented by the network administrator. I.e. not a Stata problem,
but a network problem.

Hi everyone,
I tried to post this question a few weeks back, but I think maybe I
had some things set up incorrectly, so it didn't post. I don't see it
in the archives.
I'm wondering if anyone has a program or system set up to
automatically check for updates to Stata? I'm using Stata 9.2, and I
get the prompt every 30 days, and run the update commands. If there
is an update to the executable, I'll try to update it, but since I'm
using Stata on a network drive with other users, I can't update it
unless everyone closes the program down. If we could have some
process run overnight once a month or so, it would be nice.
This may be beyond the scope of this list, since the solution likely
lies outside of Stata itself, but I figured this would be the place to
find such a solution, if one exists. Any ideas? Thanks!
