Claude,
If you want to change the setting folders, see -help sysdir-
For example, changinf the ado-file download from somewhere...
sysdir set PLUS "d:\ado\plus"

Subject: st: AW: Changing working directory permanently
Hello Tom,
I created profile.do
Stata executed it at strat-up:
running C:\Program Files\Stata9\profile.do ...
pwd
D:\STATA
adopath
[1] (UPDATES) "C:\Program Files\Stata9\ado\updates/"
[2] (BASE) "C:\Program Files\Stata9\ado\base/"
[3] (SITE) "C:\Program Files\Stata9\ado\site/"
[4] "."
[5] (PERSONAL) "c:\ado\personal/"
[6] (PLUS) "c:\ado\plus/"
[7] (OLDPLACE) "c:\ado/"
[8] "D:\STATA\Adofiles"
I am not sure how this new path will be used though (even after reading the
help file).
Also, should I change the other ado paths that appear in the list above, if
I want all "my stuff" in D:\? I noticed that ado file downloaded from ssc
are stored under c:\ado\plus. How can I change this path? What is Personal
and Old Place ?
Thanks,
Claude
