I believe that you have either mis-typed something or misinterpreted the output from list (and you don't seem to include that possibility in the tone of your posts). Remember that the observation numbers in the list output are the actual observation # in the dataset and not a numbering of the list output lines. Therefore, you may see the last observation number listed as 781, but there should only be 581 lines of output if that is the number of observations with mysample>0.

"list if mysample" is not appropriate. It lists the original input data file
(781 observations). I need to list only the 581 observations that are used
in the regression.

"su if mysample" gives the mean and std dev of the 581 observations though
(?)
