I am using Stata 9.2 on Windows XP.
I saved a graph into .tif format.
Since the resolution was poor,
the "Resolution (dpi)" parameters (X, Y)
in "Graph preferences/Clipboards"
were increased.
However, the generated .tif file
was always fixedly
487*326 pixels, 171.8*115.01 mm
and 72 pixels/inch.
This resolution is too poor
to submit to journals.
How could this resolution be
improved?

1.
In general, the .eps format (encapsulated PostScript)
works better than .tif for vector graphics, and I believe
that all journals accept this format. See more in
. help graph export
2.
If you must make a .tif filem you can set the width
and height in pixels; see
. help tif_options
