Obviously we're approaching what is for most
list members a short, or even long, holiday season,
and welcome it will be too.
This is just a reminder, futile though it may be,
that
1. You are asked please not to set up "out-of-office"
messages as far as Statalist are concerned. Regardless
of your mailer, it's a lousy mailer if you can't
exclude certain destinations from such replies.
2. Almost everyone will appreciate #1, but somehow
or other some of you will forget to act or not get
round to fixing it. So, this is just another
explanation that anyone sending such messages
will just get zapped by Father Christmas, acting
in the person of Marcello Pagano, who will
send an inimitably genial smile in your direction when
doing so but not otherwise explain or apologise.
That is, when you return to work anxious to
read the two hundred Statalist messages that should
be waiting for you, please don't send off
little messages to Marcello wanting to know why
you haven't got any. So, please re-subscribe if
that happens to you.
3. You could just unsubscribe before you go.
