I am a fan of JEdit because a couple of other people on the list have
done the extra work to make JEdit work well with Stata. If interested,
I made a page for myself to keep track of the extras. One possible
benefit, JEdit runs on java so is cross platform (windows, mac,
linux...) and open source/free.
