Dear Roberto,

Microsoft has a Beta version of its 64 bit OS on the web at no charge. A 
retail box is also available.   Your 64 bit Athalon should run under 
this operating system.  You might try putting in a temporary hard drive, 
loading it with the 64 bit XP, and booting off the new drive.  You might 
have to re-install Stata, but then you can test the 64 bit memory 
management without damaging your original system and software 
configurations.  You might want to get the 64 bit Stata to make the 
package complete.
