You need to user -graph export-. -graph save- will save the file in Stata's graph format, regardless of the extension you give the file.

I'm generating several graphs that I'm importing into Word. I used the
following command to save graphs in the default directory:

graph save "graph name.wmf"

I encounter errors when trying to import into Word.

However, if I generate the graph, right click in the graph, and save the
graph as a .emf file, all is well. I'd like to automate this process a bit.
I'm probably doing some simple thing wrong but am puzzled. Thanks much in
advance.
