Yes, but not as soon as you would like. Writing it has been on my to-do list
and I'm still working on it.
In the meantime, I highly recommend the "Mata Matters" column in the
Stata Journal. There have been four so far:
Translating Fortran

SJ 5(4), 4th quarter 2005, 567-573
Creating new variables (Sounds boring, isn't)

That's 49 pages of recommended reading.
The most recent column could use a better title. Mata is, obviously, a
programming language. The most recent column, however, is about using Mata
interactively to avoid writing programs and ado-files.
