Dear users,
Thanks to Kit Baum, a new package is available on SSC.
Concindex codes compute concentration index using Kakwani/Wagstaff formulae.
concindexi makes the calculus on individual (micro) data. It is the prefered
method. By default, the concentration index is computed using the covariance
(formula)
method. The user can also request the convenient regression method.
Alternatively, there exists on the World Bank's website an excel file to compute
the concentration index on grouped data.
http://web.worldbank.org/WBSITE/EXTERNAL/TOPICS/EXTHEALTHNUTRITIONANDPOPULATION/EXTPAH/0,,contentMDK:20216933~menuPK:460204~pag:148956~piPK:216618~theSitePK:400476,00.html
A stata version of the excel file is provided for those used to it and
concindexg computes the index
on grouped data.
These programs are still under construction. If you have any problem or find
bugs, please do notify me.
Best regards.
Amadou.
