It seems that the Editor has a limit in bytes. See the discussion around
04/05/06.
Rodrigo.

Subject: st: STATA 8 and byte size

Dear Stata list,

I was trying to open a do file in STATA 8 and got a message saying that the
file is larger than 32000 bytes. I did not know such a limit existed as the
same file opens perfectly well in STATA 9.

Apart from splitting the do file, is there any other solution such as trying
to increase the file size to the maximum available in STATA 8? If so, what
is it?

Thank you.

Regards,

Gauri Khanna
