Another one that I found useful is by Martin Ravallion, 2001, The Mystery of
the Vanishing Benefits:An Introduction to Impact Evaluation, World Bank
Economic Review. The appendix is particularly useful to understand
propensity score stuff and sample selection bais.

One useful reference on sample selction methods is the article
"Estimating models with sample selection bias: A survey," Journal of
Human Resources, 1998,
