st: mata courses?

Stata offers Stata courses. Having taken a few, they are worth the  
pennies. Will Stata offer Mata courses, and if so, what kind of  
prerequisite knowledge will be required? I don't seem to be making  
much use of Mata and wonders what I'm missing.
