First off, show us your copy of hetero1, as the error occurred in it.
Second, the example calls for 3 pairs of left and right parentheses; does you hetero1 file have 3 pairs?
If it does, then look at the ` and ' characters; are they properly paired and of the right type (they are not the same!).
