from -xtmixed-:

except for >xtmixed. Stata is correctly updated in my computer.
The most likely reason this error message would appear is that the old
executable was not replaced with the new one after -update-. This usually
happens if
. update swap
is not typed after a Stata update. -update swap- is necessary to complete
the installation of an updated Stata executable.
Massimo should type this and wait until Stata restarts. If this still does
not solve Massimo's problem he can send his data and a .log file
demonstrating the error message to tech support at [email protected]
where we will help him solve the problem.
