Subject | st: Re: manual installation of SSC packages |

We have unreliable and intermittent access to the internet (here in Dhaka)
so I would prefer to download packages via ssc and distribute them locally.
Is it possible to install packages from ssc manually if you do not have
access to the internet so that they are recorded in the stata.trk file (I
know that one can copy the files and put them in the appropriate directories
and directory path, but then they are not recorded in this file)?
And, while I am about it, why is it that sometimes "ssc install" does not
record the package in the stata.trk. file? And can you add them to the
stata.trk file later?
