I don't know a way except by looking 
at the manuals, or better by experimenting 
with different releases. 

In general, many commands exist before
they are documented and indeed afterwards. 

-help undocumented- is only a partial help 
here, as much is non-documented and not 
even undocumented. 

The Historians of Stata Society 
have a long-term project to draw up 
a database of commands and functions in 
different releases of Stata.
