A Stata 9 executable and ado-file update (dated 05jul2005) is now
available free to Stata 9 users. Within Stata type -update query-
to compare the dates of what you have installed on your computer
to what is available from StataCorp. Type -update all- to obtain
the latest update.
Highlights of the 05jul2005 update:
* improvements to "Find" in Stata Viewers
* additional -xt- commands now allow constraints
* -xt- commands now allow up to 195 -intpoints()-
* -icd9- codes have been updated to V22
* -ktau- is now faster
Type -help whatsnew- after obtaining the update to see all the
details for this update.
Note that Mata's object files (.mo and .mlib files; see [M-1] how)
are now stored a little differently. This means that if you have
any personal .mo or .mlib files, you must rebuild them from your
source code; see [M-3] mata mosave and [M-3] mata mlib. Because
this change is being made so close to the original release date,
it is not being made under version control.
This also means that you should be sure to update both the ado
files and the executable -- run -update all- and follow the
directions, being sure to type -update swap- after the files have
been copied. Updating only the executable or only the ado files
will cause Mata and some Stata commands to stop working.
