When I check about updating - it seems I have not done so since april
24 2003. over the last months , everytime I type update all ( or update
ado ) it works fine for 5 minutes or so and then the connection times
out. I have set the timeout1 and timeout2 to 32,000 but this still des
not help. I am attached to a university network system so I thought
the connection should not be slow.
Any next steps to try? I would appreciate it!

Make sure your stata is up to date. Type -update query- and, if not up
to
date, -update all-.
