If you use the font "Courier New" in Word, then at least the output has a better shape than when using "Times New Roman".

For my class handouts I routinely cut and paste using Courier New 9 pt or 10 pt font. I also use the "keep with next" formatting feature to avoid awkward page breaks. You can, of course, come up with fancier looking output, but part of the purpose of my handouts is to show how to get Stata to do things and how to interpret the printout.
