RE: st: .do file max size

A limit of this size, or about it, has been associated
with the Stata do-file editor under Windows for some time, 
so there is no question of "all of a sudden" about it. 
Also, re-installing Stata will not affect this limit 
in the slightest. 

Note that the largest size of file that can fit into the do-file 
editor is not the largest size you can work with. 

The FAQ cited by Neil discusses this and many other issues, 
including the limitations of Word and WordPad for 
editing text files.
