after installing kdens2.ado i get the following message:
. kdens2 gdpppp gdp_ppp
version 8.2 not supported
i am using stata 8 born in april 2003. is my version of stata old, or stata is not supporting (using) kdens2 or what? by the way, surface works fine so far as installation etc. is concerned but the graphs one gets are, i think, far from usable.

The kdens2 routine (bivariate kernel density estimation) has been
revised to deal with a bug identified by Friedrich Huebler which caused
failure when -varabbrev- was disabled. The revised version is available
from ssc.
