Dear listers:
I have a question related to the function of "stata update".
I am using a workstation with operation system of XP(sp2).
After I install (successfully, I believe) the Stata 8.0SE
I perform the command - update all-
However, after few mintues(10-15 mintues), I obtain an error showing that
the file I am updating is not found in the server.
You might need to fiddle around with the network settings (see -help netio-). However, my anecdotal observation has been that machines with the original Stata 8 seem to have trouble updating to the very latest version. Ergo, try doing a manual update the first time, and then see if you have any problems after that. See
