What I think is meant here is that Joe
cannot send a message to Statalist _that
also comes back to him as a posting_.
Being thrown off the list for some other
reason would of course mean receiving no
postings whatsoever.
No, this problem is usually explained by
the fact that the sender is attempting
to send something not plain text to the list,
meaning HTML, or something encoded using
MIME, or a VCARD, or some other such stuff.
As explained many times over in the FAQ and
in postings to the list,
* Statalist asks all members to send plain
text postings only (and with good reason,
documented in the FAQ and documents linked
thereto)
* the majordomo software running Statalist
tries to trap other stuff (it is not always
successful, but it often is).
So once more, please: plain text only!
