Nick and Scott,
Thanks for your responses. svmat worked out. I also tried mat2txt, but
since there is no option to search in stata as to how to use it, I
wasn't able to try it out. In the web I also didn't find any guidelines
about the syntax for mat2txt. But since svmat worked (even if it may
require a few more steps than mat2txt), my problem is addressed.
