st: Save matrix to text file or as dataset

Dear Statalisters,

I have a very short question: How do I save a matrix I created in stata 
to an ASCII (text) file, or if that is not possible, save it as a stata 
dataset (.dta) (since I know how to save a dataset to a text file)?
