Dear statalist,
Thanks to Kit Baum, -tabout- has been placed on SSC.
-tabout- is a command to export publication quality
cross-tabulations from Stata.
The table are exported to a text file and can be tab-delimited,
TeX formatted or HTML formatted output. The output in -tabout-
can be complex tables, or simple two-way cross tabulations. It
provides control over number formatting (commas and decimal
points), and the width of the labels. When the output is sent to
TeX or HTML, it also provides formatting of fonts for variable
labels.
The complex tables can be one "horizontal" variable cross-tabbed
against multiple "vertical" variables. You can also have "double"
tables, with columns of counts alongside columns of percentages,
with each formatted appropriately.
To download, just type:
ssc install tabout
There is a comprehensive help file, but note that the variables must
have labels attached (and cannot be string variables). Also -tabout-
requires a minimum of 2 variables, and thus does not produce simple
frequency counts. (That will be a future update!)

Kind regards,
Ian
