Greetings,

I'm running v.8 on Windows, and I'm not happy with the way various windows behave, but I can't figure out a way to change the aspects of the windowing behavior that I don't like. Generally, what I would like would be the capacity to make a window "be on top." That is, I normally have the review and variable windows on the left, and the results window on the right. Often, I might like to enlarge the size of the font in the results window, and drag the results window over to the left so that all of the results window is visible. However, as I do this, the lefthand side of the results window "goes underneath" the review and variables windows and becomes invisible. I would think I could solve this with a window preference like "Results window always on top," or "cascade windows." I also am frustrated with similar problems with 1) the viewer window; and 2) with the dialogue boxes that come up under the Statistics menu: they both end up with the review and variables windows covering the lefthand side of the window of interest.

How do other folks manage these issues? All I can think to do is to keep the variables and review windows closed except as needed. Perhaps there are other approaches to using the windows?

The irony about this is that I was for many years a generalized anti-GUI fanatic and have now come to be something of a convert.

Regards,
