I haven't really "solved the problem", I lucked out of it. The was even
after setting -set timeout2- to the maximum number of seconds, I did not
managed to -update ado- because it kept timing out.

I am posting this message only because I agree with others that it is useful

It's a great suggestion for those who have my same problem BUT only with
respect to executables.

My problem was different from the one described there, but reading the help
for -netio- can be of help to some people. Indeed there is where I had
learnt how to -set timeout2-
So how did I luck out of the problem?
With a lot of patience and perseverance!! I used an extremely advanced
technological device -- my index finger -- to hit again on -update ado- once
the previous try failed. In the end once I lucked out and now it completed
the update.
