It is my understanding that EMF is superior to WMF because it
supports a broader set of commands and is a native 32 bit format.
When Stata graphs are exported to EMF format, the resulting graphs
are surrounded by a border about 0.05" wide. WMF graphs do not have
this border. The border is obvious when graphs are drawn with a
frame, exported to EMF, imported in a word processor, and then
left-aligned in the document. To see the difference, run the commands
below and import the images into a word processor.
. sysuse auto
. scatter mpg weight, graphregion(lcolor(black))
. graph export border.wmf
. graph export border.emf
The EMF image can be cropped to remove the border but this is
inconvenient. Can the border be avoided when exporting to EMF format?
For your information, I use Windows XP.
