st: translator print; letter pagesize versus din A4; inches versus centimeters

Hello,
I do not find any notes in the manual or anywhere else how to set
the translator smclps to "European" formats. Can I change the pagesize from letter to something else? 
Can I generally change Stata defaults from inches to centimeters?
