I need to test the equality of medians, how can I do that. I know ttest does
that for means only.
A t-test is just a regression where the only predictor is binary. Stata's
quantile regression allows you to use a binary predictor to model the
median.
This approach has the advantage that you may want to adjust the comparison
for confounding or biasing variables.
