Sorry, I can't reproduce your problem. But then, I haven't tried it
right after installation. So, maybe, it is just a matter of exiting and
restarting Stata after updating...

Interestingly, I've exited Stata and restarted it, and now the original 
problem no longer appears. I don't know why ... but as long as it works 
...
