st: Can commands be sent to Stata from other apps?

Hi everyone,

I use Stata 8 under windows 2000 and i frequently run Stata in batch mode, or execute Stata from a windows batch file with a Stata command. This results in the execution of a new instance of Stata. However I am wondering if there is a way to send Stata commands to an instance of Stata that is already running.
