I have one dataset which includes the field postcode.
I have a second dataset which contains just 2 columns: postcode and area
code.
I want to assign each observation in my first dataset to have an area code
(using the postcode).
If i were doing this in excel i could use the function "VLOOKUP",
unfortunately there are so many postcodes that i would have to use 17
worksheets for this exercise. Does anyone know how i could do this lookup in
Stata..?
